The map above should help you get your bearings and give you an idea of where Rye is in relation to the sea and where the cottage is in relation to The Ship (The Ship manages the cottage and is where you go to check in / out).

Obviously for further detail you can use google maps.

The address for the Ship is:
The Ship Inn, Strand Quay, Rye, East Sussex, TN31 7DB.

Travelling by train:

If you’re coming from London, travelling by train is by far the easiest and quickest route.

From St Pancras trains run every half hour to Ashford and takes 35 minutes, and then there’s a shuttle which takes you from there to Rye in about 20 minutes. The shuttle links up with every London train during peak times and goes every hour during off peak times so make sure you check in advance so you get the timing right.  Visit The Train Line for more details.

Travelling by car:

If you’re coming from or via London, then taking the M20 to Junction 10 is the best bet. Then take the A2070 and follow signs for Hastings, Brenzett & Ham Street.  When you get to Brenzett roundabout, take the A249 towards Hastings.  You’ll go along there for about 10 miles, then once you pass the turning to Camber on your left you’ll see Rye up on the hill straight ahead of you.

When you come into Rye, take the left hand turn at the first roundabout you get to and that will take you along South Undercliffe.  You’ll round the corner past a row of houses and then you’ll have the Quayside on your left and will be able to see the Ship on the right.
